So it has been a crazy but good time here at Practical Magick II. We are currently in the process of expanding. We are turning our small store into a boutique. We have custom made items including wine bags, t-shirts, tote bags, backpacks, pajama pants and Goddess "stuff" bags.

We are also taking over the space next to us (where the lawyer was) to offer more space for upcoming classes and workshops. So now we will have 3 stores. I am so excited. It should be up and running just in time for the Psychic Fair, which is on Sunday, October 23rd from 10 am to 6 pm.

Please stop by and see our new space.

On a personal note, I got a new puppy on September 21st. She was a rescue from Alabama. Thanks Kristen for being a great foster mom. She is a lab mix and her name is Raven. She joins Roxy and Trevor.

Congrats to Vikki for adopting Sparky, who joins big brother Barkley.

This post is dedicated to Manny, he knows why. LOL

Blessed Be!!!

It was amazing. I really did not think I could do it but I did. I was so proud of myself afterward. I did not even end up at the hospital in traction. LOL. I want thank Beth for being the best Yoga instructir out there. I promise I wont whine next wednesday. LOL. Thanks to Kelly for doing it with me. What a brave soul she is. LOL.

So the point is that if I can do it, so can you. What are you waiting for? It is a great chance to change your life.

I have also cut out all of the snacks in my life. I think I have had 3 muffins since June 1st. That is amazing for me. No ice cream, cookies, cake, potato chips, brownies, pies, etc.

We are offering Yoga every Wednesday from 10 am - 11:15 am (that is the class I am taking) and every Thursday from 6 pm - 7:15 pm. Space is limited. Bring your own mat.

Blessed Be!!!

I have so much going on right now that I forget to blog.

I had a great time last night at Banana's. It is a comedy club in Hasbrouck Heights. It is located in the Hilton hotel on Route 17. We went there for a benefit to raise money for animal shelters. It was such a great time. Thanks to Kelly, Jay, Ma, Steve, Manny and Molly for joining me. Thanks also to Jay and Kelly for driving. It was so much fun. Comedian Jeff Norris was the headliner. He was hilarious. If you get a chance to see him, it is worth it. There was a comic on before that was really good also. Sending props out to Pam for running such a great event. I won an Avon basket at the tricky tray and my grandmother won 4 boxes of dog treats. While Kelly won all 3 weeks of summer camp. Good job to all of us. The food was also good too but overpriced. No big surprise though.

I also started reading "The Sweep" series. I finished book one in less than a day. Thanks Molly for turning me onto it. I need 14 more books to read. I will put that on my list of things to do. LOL. It is a really good series and it features a store called Practical Magick. I have to say that I had no idea of the series before we bought the store. It was just a coincidence.

I also have to read the 4th book the Alchemist series. The 5th book came out on Tuesday, I think.

This past Wednesday, my grandmother and I appeared on an internet radio show called "The Metaphysical Hour with Vikki Anderson". It was so much fun that it turned into a 2 parter. We were laughing and often we got side tracked. Anytime she wants to have us, we are there. The show is on every Wednesday from 9 pm - 10 pm at www.3rdstrikeradio.com. It is definitely worth checking out. She is so down to earth and a great friend. She is also going to be teaching some classes at the store. We just have to finalize the dates and times. I am looking forward to them all.

Ok so here is my rant of the day.

Just remember that only a 3rd degree High Priest or High Priestess can initiate. 1st degree is just a Witch. They are still learning. Ok everyone at every degree is always learning. 2nd degree (Priest or Priestess) can teach a full course. 1st degree can teach a class and should if they ever want 2nd degree.

That is all I am saying. :)

I love my Wiccan family!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for helping me become who I am.

Blessed Be!!!

"Don't follow in other people's foot steps, make your own and people will want to follow in them."

Well that describes my month of March. I am not writing this so i can have a pity party for myself. But rather this is just how it is. I think the weather has a lot to do with it. Whenever it is cold out, I am not in the mood to do anything. And boy has it been cold out.

So I watched "The Fighter" last week and it was excellent. It was a good old-fashioned movie. I can understand at how Melissa Leo and Christian Bale won their Oscars. So I must see "The King's Speech". It will be on DVD very soon, if not already. I do not keep track of these things.

Question of the week:

What makes you happy?

I have not figured that out yet becasue I have not been truly happy in awhile.

Blessed Be!!!

So much for the beginning of Spring. We were having 70 degrees last week. I guess the Goddess thinks we need the snow. I just want everyone to be safe because people drive crazy.

I watched "Due Date" last night and it was just OK. I mean they put all the funny parts in the commercials. I did not think it was going to be as good as "The Hangover" but it did not even come close.

I am going to watch "The Fighter" tonight. I hope I am not disappointed. I am really looking forward to it.

Even though it is snowing/raining out, I am rather upbeat. I feel like cleaning. But I must first type the Wiccaning. That is the most important thing right now since it is next Sunday. Then the Psychic Fair is the following Sunday. That is when we go into cleaning overload. I have to make sure that everything looks perfect. My office area is a mess. Have to clean and organize that as well. Pauline is going to sit back here for the Psychic Fair. I am looking forward to the fair because I have 6 excellent readers. Ok I am biased because one of them is my grandmother. But in all honesty, i would not have them here if they were not really excellent.

Blessed Be!!!

Well the Oscars were handed out this past Sunday and there were no surprises at all. Everyone that was supposed to win, won. BORING!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it was a snoozefest. The hosts, James Franco and Anne Hathaway, were also boring. They lacked any chemistry whatsoever. He looked stoned and unhappy. She looked like a deer caught in head lights. Can we please bring back Billy Crystal?

DRESSES:

Jennifer Lawrence---She is a very pretty girl with a very classy, simple dress. It was an excellent debut at the Oscars. So sorry you lost but you were up against Natalie Portman.

Melissa Leo---She looked like a cowgirl. Really??? You wear that to the Oscars. Well, at least it was not as bad as Bjork's swan.

Haillee Steinfeld---Impressive. The dress is very age appropriate. Very nice debut.

Mila Kunis---She looked like she is wearing underwear. You wear something like that to the Grammys.

Mandy Moore---I did not even recognize her at first. But it was still a pretty chose for her.

Michelle Williams---Looked simple. Nice color. The hair??? Really. She looked like she did not want to be there, like she was forced to go.

Amy Adams---Nice dress but that color did nothing for her. She should have went with a paler color.

Jennifer Hudson---Too much dress. Her boobs were hanging out. I love her and everything but she is better than this.

Cate Blanchett---What is up with that hole in the front of her dress??? Totally not needed.

Scarlett Johannsen---You left me speechless. The dress was see through. Did you look in the mirror before you left the house???

Helena Bonham Carter---Looks like she went through a shredder. But it was so much better that that frock she wore at the Golden Globes. I understand what she was going for.

Hilary Swank---Looked good but those feathers. I am not a big fan of feathers.

Penelope Cruz---Looked amazing for having a baby just recently. I was very surprised.

Halle Berry---I have to say that I love her. She will always be one of my favorites. But she looked like she was wearing drapes. Still love her though.

Nicole Kidman---Just not feeling the dress at all. You are so much better than this.

Sandra Bullock---Looked good. She is often hit or miss. But it was a hit. Jennifer Hudson should take a hint from her.

Reese Witherspoon---To me, this is what you should look like at the Oscars. Classic.

Gwyneth Paltrow---Looked like she was wearing saran wrap or shellac. No words for her.

Natalie Portman---Looked good for being pregnant. It was a good color for her. Congrats on your Oscar.

Best Dressed-------------------------Reese Witherspoon

Worst Dressed-----------------------Mila Kunis

Congrats to all the winners. Not going tobore you with a list of them. But I was excited to see Christian Bale finally win one. Now, Mark Wahlberg and Edward Norton need one.

Without you it would have never been done.

We had our first class in there on Wednesday. It was Yoga. Sorry Beth and Hope that it was 45 degrees in there. Did not realize that the heat was not working. So today we are having Fairy workshop and Runes in there. Soon we will be having private Reiki sessions and private past life regressions in there. It is definitely moving forward.

I will be posting my question of the week on Monday. It will give me some time to think of a very good question.

Have to go back in time and talk about Imbolc. I have to say it was a very good ritual. I felt alot of energy in circle that night. I am starting something new with all of the Sabbats this year. I am actually cooking/baking. For Imbolc, I made Banana Trifle. I have to say that it was pretty good. The recipe is from the 2004 Witches' datebook. If you tried it, let me know what you think. You can be honest. Kelly also made some dishes as well. She made Gooey Butter Cake (2009 Witches' Datebook) and Imbolc Drinking Chocolate (2011 Witches' Datebook). I did not get to try the drinking chocolate but the gooey cake was gooey. LOL. No it was very good, Kelly. She is an awesome baker.

Then we had the February full moon ritual. It was very good as usual. Thanks Manny for pulling it together on such short notice. I knew you could do it. It was all about letting go of the past. That is something we should all do.

2011 Academy Awards

Ok here are my predictions:

Picture:

First of all, "The Town" should have been nominated. I realy want "The Fighter" to win but I think it is between "The King's Speech" and "The Social Network". I will say "The King's Speech" fo the win.

Director:

Tom Hooper "The King's Speech"

Actor:

First of all, Mark Wahlberg should have been nominated. I don't think anyone can beat Colin Firth.

Actress:

It is all about the battle between Natalie Portman and Annette Bening. I think Natalie Portman will beat her.

Supporting Actor:

This category is all about Christian Bale. He is an amazing actor who shines in anything he is in. It is about time he gets this.

Supporting Actress:

Melissa Leo has won all of the other awards so this should be no different.

Animated Feature:

Toy Story 3 is the highest grossing animated movie of all time and is a great conclusion to the series. It is just a great movie period.

We will see what happens tomorrow. Enjoy!!!

Blessed Be!!!

I have no idea where to start today's blog. Ok here goes. Lately, I have been in a crappy mood. I think it has to do with the weather. It could also be that I have way too much on my plate right now. Getting next door has been one roadblock after another. I know that it will be worth it in the long run. But getting there is a hassle. The cold weather does not help either. I guess I just feel like I can not be in 4 places at one time and I definitely can not do it all. I just do not feel like doing anything. It will all get done eventually. I guess.

Question of the week:

What is your favorite movie and why?

Mine would be Scavenger Hunt. It brings me back to when I was a child. My cousin, Jenn, and I used to watch it over and over again. That along with Annie.

I miss my childhood of when we had no responsibility. Ok enough for today.

Happy Birthday to Elinor, Kazy and Ann.

Happy Imbolc!!!

As we celebrate Imbolc today, it is a dreary day here in NJ. But that is ok because according to the Witches' Datebook (I forgot what year), if it is dreary out on Imbolc then Spring is right around the corner. WOOHOO!!!

I hope everyone is safe and warm today.

I want to add something to my previous post concerning rituals. Just because you are running a ritual does not mean that it is yours. You are a representation of the PM2 Family. You are doing it to celebrate with the family. Speaking of rituals, we are having our Imbolc ritual on Saturday night. I am looking forward to it because it is Diane's first ritual and she has put a lot of time and effort into it. Hopefully, there will be no storm that night so that everyone can come and participate. She has asked for all of us to dress in black. I know that it is not usually a color associated with this Sabbat. But I know what she has planned and it will work out as planned.

This weather has me feeling a little claustrophobic. When is it all going to go away? Probably around May. LOL. I am trying to think of it in a positive way though. It means to me that we need to spend more time with the people we love and more time for yourselves. We have a tendency to rush through life. Maybe we should take it easier and not hurry through things. I know good luck with that. Considering where we live.

Try to answer this without thinking. Let the first answer you think of be your answer. That would be more of an honest answer.

Question of the day:

If you could travel to any place in the world, where would it be?

My first answer is Greece. Yes, Kelly, I did say Greece. This is making think of all the countries that I would love to visit. Here they are, in random order, Australia, Greece, Egypt (not anytime soon), Thailand, Switzerland, England, Panama, Costa Rica, Sweden, Spain and Italy (again). I would also love to travel across country and do an incredible road trip. I have been to the following states: Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana (during Hurricane Andrew), Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey (obviously), New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. Wow!!! I have been to half the country. I never really thought about it.

Quick Note:

Happy Birthday to Diane. You will do a great job with your ritual on Saturday.

Feel better to Lorraine. I know what you are going through. I ended up in the ER on Friday night last week. It turns out I have chronic sinutitus (hopefully I spelled correctly). The doctor spent 5 minutes with me at most and I should get $1,000 bill because I have no insurance. How does that make any sense? He told me that it was my teeth. I said to him that I think it is my sinuses. He said OK and then gave me percicet. What kind of doctor is he? Wonderful Chilton for you. I have been taking antibiotics for a week, along with my netipot, and I am feeling better. The pain on my right side of my head finally went away. Ok, that is my rant for today.

Blessed Be!!!

Yet another wonderful cold day here in New Jersey. It is the coldest it has been in a long time.

Well we had our Full Moon ritual on Saturday, which was run by Molly. It was a great ritual. She always comes up with the coolest stuff.

Ok so I want to ramble about rituals for a moment. Rituals are a time when we gather together to celebrate. Whether it is for a Sabbat or Esbat. It should not be a popularity contest or a place just to be seen. You should come to rituals just because you want to. Sometimes people use excuses why they can not attend rituals. Well I guess it was not meant for them to be there. Sometimes I doubt their commitment to the craft and the "Family". We all go with issues but we should leave them outside before we enter. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am tired of excuses. People say their say or not feeling well but yet they did other activities earlier. If you don't want to come to ritual then just be honest. Another thing that urks me is just because a certain person is running the ritual determines is they attend or miss the ritual. Well that is just nonsense. You should support the "Family" no matter who is running the ritual. My last statement is that you should always pick your quarters right before the ritual because you never know who is going to show up or not show up. Also, you can not be qaurters in back to back rituals.

My question of the week is:

When do you know you are in love?

Can't wait to hear the answers to this. I personally think it is when you can not stop thinking of the person and you want to be with them all the time.

Blessed Be!!!
